Declarations are formal statements of facts which are admissible as evidence. Affidavits are similar to declarations but are made under oath before a notary public or other authorized officer.

Scientology's Team of Attorneys

Scientology has assembled a formidible team of attorneys. Some are members of the organization such as Kendrick Moxon whose legal education was paid for by Scientology. Others were brought in from outside Scientology such as Elliott Abelson whose previous clients include the Gambino family.

Always the attorneys work closely with Scientology's Office of Special Affairs (OSA), often with an OSA agent such as Ben Shaw at their side in court.

Scientology insists on special quirks. For instance, when their attorneys present a document to the court it may have "forbidden words" blocked out by the Scientologists. An example would be a reference to the website XENU TV as _____ TV.
