These
two dentists from the Chicago area were defrauded by WISE
and demanded a refund from the Church of Scientology. Expecting
trouble in their attempt to get their money back from Scientology,
they called on LMT Media's producer, Mark
Bunker, to fly to Chicago to do a video interview with
them.
Needless
to say, Scientology heavily objected to the presence of Mr.
Bunker. While standing on a public sidewalk filming the dentists
as they entered the Church of Scientology of Chicago building,
two uniformed, off-duty police officers hired by Scientology
arrested Mark on bogus criminal trespassing charges. A costly
and time-consuming lawsuit
against Mark ensued based on trumped-up charges of criminal
trespassing - complete with several affidavits written by
"eye-witnesses" who are known to work for Scientology's
Office of Special Affairs. Mark was inevitably acquitted of
all charges in that lawsuit.
Mysteriously,
the video tape which contained the original interview with
the dentists as well as the bogus trespassing incident disappeared
from Mark's camera after it was confiscated by those off duty
police officers working for Scientology. However, Mark did
do another video interview with the dentists before leaving
Chicago - and they talk about their experiences in Scientology
as well as the bogus arrest of our producer in that video.
Before
the trial began, they settled their claim with Scientology
but as a condition to receiving that refund, were forced to
sign a "gag order" which in essence meant that they
could no longer speak publicly about Scientology in derogatory
terms. However, the video interview was shot before their
gag order so their story can continue to be told.
They
also were able to act as witnesses
at Mark Bunker's trial and, in a court of law were able
to speak the truth about what had happened to them and also
made it clear to the jury that Scientology orchestrated Mark's
arrest to keep him from recording the outrageous story of
fraud they had to tell.
