This is an investigative report regarding Steven and Carol South, co-workers of Lisa McPherson's at AMC Publishing.

                         FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
                                  INVESTIGATIVE REPORT

   This investigative report is regarding investigative assistance provided by the Florida Department
   of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to the Clearwater Police Department (CPD) who are investigating the
   suspicious death of LISA McPHERSON W/F 02/10/1959.

   On Wednesday 12 March 1997 at approximately 1615 hours Detective (Det.) Jorge Carrasquillo
   and Special Agent (SA) Sharon L. Feola conducted interviews at the Clearwater Police
   Department with AMC Publishing employees STEVEN and CAROL SOUTH. Mr. and Mrs.
   SOUTH were represented by AMC Publishing Company attorney Ronald Cacciatore. Prior to the
   interviews, CAROL and STEVEN SOUTH were sworn in by SA Feola and their interviews were
   audio taped.

   The interview with Mrs. CAROL SOUTH started at approximately 1615 hours.  In substance,
   CAROL SOUTH made the following statement:

          CAROL SOUTH stated she has been employed with AMC Publishing since 1990
          and relocated from Dallas, Texas when AMC Publishing moved to Clearwater,
          Florida. CAROL SOUTH stated she met Lisa McPHERSON in the early 1980s
          when both SOUTH and McPHERSON worked on staff at the Church of
          Scientology Celebrity Center Dallas. CAROL SOUTH stated the last contact she
          had with McPHERSON was prior to AMC Publishing attending the N.A.I.L.B.A.
          Insurance Conference in Orlando, Florida. SOUTH stated when she did not see
          McPHERSON at work the following week, Benetta Slaughter told her LISA took
          another leave of absence. SOUTH stated she had limited social contact with
          McPHERSON apart from their work environment. SOUTH stated she was
          requested to respond to the Chaplain at 210 South Fort Harrison, Reid Suggs,
          who informed her of McPHERSON's death. Chaplain Suggs informed SOUTH that
          McPHERSON had been at the church and died after a sudden illness.  SOUTH
          stated she had been concerned for McPHERSON as LISA had not been herself
          over the past year. SOUTH stated McPHERSON was not herself and decsribed
          her as being somewhat moody. SOUTH believed McPHERSON was suffering from
          stress related issued from work.

     SOUTH stated she did not have any contact with McPHERSON during the time of
     her isolation, 18 November, 1995 to 5 December, 1995, at the Fort Harrison.
     SOUTH stated she has heard of the introspection rundown but has no personal
     knowledge of any individual participating in this particular rundown. SOUTH
     recalled she had no indication LISA was planning on leaving the Church of
     Scientology. SOUTH stated LISA exhibited very positive actions toward the church
     and did not exhibit any behavior which indicated otherwise. SOUTH stated she
     asked Benetta Slaughter several times about LISA's status while she was away
     from the office, SOUTH stated Benetta did not have any information regarding
     LISA's well-being. CAROL SOUTH was later asked by Det. Carrasquillo if she ever
     wrote a report regarding LISA McPHERSON. SOUTH stated she may have written
     a report while in Dallas but has not written any reports concerning McPHERSON
     since relocating to Clearwater, Florida.

The interview with Mr. STEVEN SOUTH started at approximately 1645 hours. In substance,
STEVE SOUTH made the following statement

     STEVE SOUTH stated he met LISA McPHERSON sometime in the early 1980s at
     the Church of Scientology Celebrity Center Dallas. STEVE SOUTH stated he came
     to work at AMC Publishing sometime after his spouse, CAROL SOUTH, in the early
     1990s. STEVE SOUTH stated he had limited contact with LISA McPHERSON as
     they worked in different departments within the publishing company. STEVE
     SOUTH had limited contact with McPHERSON apart from the work arena and did
     not socialize with her outside work. SOUTH stated he heard of LISA's death from
     AMC Publishing Company President, David Slaughter. SOUTH stated he recalled
     Slaughter told them McPERSON died of spinal meningitis. Later, SOUTH learned
     McPHERSON died of something else, either by the Slaughters or what was
     reported in the newspapers.  SOUTH stated he had no knowledge about
     McPHERSON's isolation and was told LISA checked herself into the Fort Harrison
     after being involved in an automobile accident. SOUTH stated he is aware of the
     introspection rundown via his church studies but has no personal knowledge of
     same. SOUTH advised he had limited contact with McPHERSON and has no
     information pertinent to this information. SOUTH was questioned about any written
     reports he may have written in regard to LISA McPHERSON. SOUTH stated he
     does not recall ever writing a report concerning McPHERSON.
